NOTICE REGARDING VOTER REGISTRATION
Tuesday, March 7, 2017 is the last day to register to vote in Pocomoke
City’s election for Mayor and District 3 Council member. Registration
forms are available from the Worcester County Board of Elections
at 100 Belt Street, Snow Hill, Maryland, at any branch library in
Worcester County, and at any Post Office and may be completed at
MVA offices or by calling (410) 632-1320.
The deadline to file as a candidate for this year’s municipal
election in Pocomoke City will be at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February
3, 2017. Candidates for the office of Mayor and City Council member
for District 3 must file in person at City Hall, 101 Clarke Ave,
Pocomoke City, MD. The fee for filing for either office is $25.00.
A City Council member and Mayor must be at least 21 years of age,
a registered voter in the City, and a resident of the district which
they wish to represent, for at least one year immediately preceding
their election. The election will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
The successful candidates will take office on 4/10/2017, and serve
for a three (3) year term. The last day to register to vote in this
year’s election will be March 7, 2017.
The election will be held at 1410
Market Street in the Maryland Room on April 4 the polls will
open at 7:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM
