It has come to the attention of the Pocomoke City Council that, in 2017, a Pocomoke City resident received a payment from the City that was potentially intended to be compensation for water damage to their home. The Council was not aware of this transaction at the time. The Council will not condone behavior that is inconsistent with the City’s Charter, Ethics Ordinance, or any other applicable provisions. The Council is thoroughly investigating the matter to clarify the exact circumstances of the payment, whether all appropriate procedures were followed, and what action is required moving forward.
