 Are you or your neighbors experiencing more regular flooding in your region? Has higher water levels impacted your home, commute or access to a region that was previously regularly accessible? We want to hear about those experiences! State, county and local partners are working together to target vulnerable regions of Pocomoke City and Worcester County for possible protection, restoration or further research.


The daily trash collection schedule is east of Market St. (Tues. & Fri.); west of Market St. (Mon. & Thurs.). Daily trash pickup changes during Holiday closings for 2022 will be printed on the monthly water bills and is posted on the holiday schedule for the year below.  Trash Collection Schedule: Trash must be placed at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days. If you have questions regarding the trash or bulk trash pick-up schedule, please call City Hall at 410-957-2521.




Normal Schedule is: Bulk Trash Day is normally the second Wednesday of each month. 



Purpose: This is part of our City-Wide Water Quality Improvement Implementation Plan; this project is focused on essential repairs and replacements for our wastewater system.  The contract is managed by GMB and subcontracted to M2 Construction. 


Amount and Funding of Project:  $1,474,465.00 funded by USDA, RMC, and ARPA

Start Date: September 12, 2022, Dorchester Avenue, weather permitting

Description of Work Activities:

The recycle bins that were at two locations in Pocomoke City will be moved to a new location. The new location will be at the lot located directly next to the South Water Tower on the corner of Old Virginia Road/ Beltway and Dunn Swamp Road in front of the city's Water/Wastewater plant. The bins behind Tractor Supply have already been relocated and the city will be working on moving the other recycle bins, located at the Roses complex, next to Advanced Auto, to the same location in the next few weeks.

An Emergency Mayor and Council meeting was advertised and held at 6:00 p.m. on August 18, 2022 via Zoom/Facebook to discuss the purchase of a refuse truck for the Public Works Department. Emergency Resolution No 571 was passed and the purchase was approved for $249,780.00
