The Mayor and Pocomoke City Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jeremy Mason as the City Manager effective July 1, 2020. In February 2020, Mr. Mason was appointed to the position on an interim basis. Over the past five months, under the strains of COVID-19, Mr. Mason has exhibited the diligence, managerial skills and work ethic to lead the CIty. Mr. Mason previously worked as a Code Enforcement Officer in the Department of Planning and Zoning. 

There will be a meeting of the Recreation Committee on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 6:00PM.  

There will be a meeting of the Economic Development Committee on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 6:30PM.  

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 10 people, at one time, allowed in Council Chambers. Social distancing guidelines must also be followed in City Hall.

 

 

ORDINANCE NO. 454

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF

POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND, ADDING SPEED MONITORING SYSTEMS

VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC

       WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of Pocomoke City, Maryland, the Mayor and Council of Pocomoke City, Maryland amends Chapter 220-2 of the Code of the City of Pocomoke entitled Adoption of Traffic Regulations; Signs which will allow Speed Monitoring Systems.

ORDINANCE NO. 453

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL

OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND ESTABLISHING THE

FEE SCHEDULE FOR CITY SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-21

WHEREAS, certain sections of the “Code of Pocomoke City” provide that various fees and charges for certain City services be established by the City Council as necessary; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish such fees and charges;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND that the fees and charges attached hereto and made a part thereof, be and the same are hereby established as the fees and charges for the City services therein for Fiscal Year 2020-21.

ORDINANCE NO. 452

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL

OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND ADOPTING THE BUDGET

FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-21

WHEREAS, Section C-49 of the City Charter provides that an annual budget containing estimates of anticipated revenues and proposed expenditures for the coming fiscal year shall be adopted before the first day of July in every year, but only after the Council shall have held a public hearing thereon following two weeks’ notice in one or more newspapers having general circulation within the City; and

WHEREAS, all of the requirements of the Charter have been met and the prescribed public hearing on the budget having been concluded and the Council is ready to adopt a budget for the coming year;

As a precaution against COVlD-19, public access to City Hall is restricted until further notice.
