NOTICE is hereby given by the Mayor and City Council of Pocomoke City, that on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the following ordinances was introduced: Ordinance Number 2026-O-3.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL ("THE COUNCIL"), OF POCOMOKE CITY , MARYLAND, TO AMEND THE CITY’S ZONING CODE: WITH REVISIONS TO AMEND CHAPTER 230, ARTICLE II TERMINOLOGY, ARTICLE V R-1 RESIDENCE DISTRICT, SECTION 230-35 ACCESSORY USES E: ARTICLE VI, R-2 RESIDENCE DISTRICT, SECTION 230-42 ACCESSORY USES E; ARTICLE VII R-3 MULTIFAMILY DISTRICT, SECTION 230-49 ACCESSORY USES: E, TO ELIMINATE THE KEEPING OF LODGERS, ROOMERS OR BOARDERS BY A RESIDENT FAMILY IN RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS.  

In accordance with the procedural provisions of Section 230-111 “Amendment Procedure,” of the Pocomoke City Code, the Mayor and Council shall hold a public hearing in relation to the proposed amendments, at which parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard.

NOTICE is further hereby given by the Mayor and City Council for Pocomoke City will hold a public hearing on said Ordinances on:

Tuesday, January 20, 2026

at 6:30PM

City Hall 101 Clarke Street

Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851

All interested parties are invited to attend said public hearings and present their views.
