Mayor & Council Meetings

The City Manager or the City Clerk must be notified of pending agenda items by Wednesday of the preceding week of the scheduled Mayor & Council meeting.  All documentation must accompany the agenda request.

Meetings of the Mayor & City Council are routinely held at 6:30 PM on the first and third Mondays of each month at City Hall, 101 Clarke Avenue, Pocomoke City, Maryland.  The meeting dates are subject to change due to holidays or other events.  Work Sessions and Closed Sessions are held on an "as needed" basis.  Agendas are posted in advance of all meetings.

FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADJOURNING INTO A CLOSED SESSION

MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2026

ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M., THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY WILL CONVENE INTO AN OPEN SESSION MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL. UPON CALLING THE OPEN SESSION MEETING TO ORDER, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL WILL IMMEDIATELY ENTERTAIN A VOTE TO CONVENE TO CLOSE ITS MEETING TO DISCUSS MATTERS THAT THE OPEN MEETINGS ACT PERMITS IT TO DISCUSS IN CLOSED SESSION, SPECIFICALLY:

 “To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals”

The City Council will be interviewing applicants for the position of Chief of Police.

THE AUTHORITY FOR HOLDING THIS CLOSED SESSION IS SET FORTH IN 3-305(b)(1), OF THE GENERAL PROVISIONS ARTICLE OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND.
